Earth to the Stars
Experience the majesty of Rainbow Falls and enjoy the beauty of the lush landscape. You will then be able to "go down under" and enter into Kaumana Caves that was created by the 1881 lava flow that almost devastated Hilo town. Here you will be equipped with a flashlight as you go deep into the Earth and see where molten lava blazed it's trail.
Imiloa Astronomy Center is the star of the next stop where you will be able to explore the wonders of the planetarium show and all the educational exhibits that honor Mauna Kea by sharing Hawaiian culture and science to inspire exploration.
Panaewa Rainforest Zoo is the only natural tropical rainforest zoo in the United States. The 12 acre zoo holds over 60 species of animals and 40 different plant varieties that will thrill people of all ages.
Be amazed at the groves of macadamia nuts that you will see on our way to Mauna Loa Mac Nut Factory and see how the nuts are processed and made into delicious products. This is a nut lovers dream.
